About Charron Monaye

Charron Monaye is an American writer, playwright, publisher, and theater and film producer whose career spans more than two decades. She has authored 28 books, co-authored more than 100 titles, written and produced 10 theatrical productions, and published over 175 authors across more than 15 genres, generating more than $1 million in global sales. Her acclaimed series Get Out of Your Own Way and The Adventures of Michelle have empowered readers of all ages and inspired stage adaptations in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Hollywood, and Off-Broadway theaters. She is also the founder of Pen Legacy, a multimedia enterprise spanning publishing, songwriting, theater, and film.

Her debut book, My Side of the Story, was later adapted into the stage play Living Your Life, which premiered in Philadelphia and was featured at the DC Theatre Festival. Inspired by her son’s anti-bullying book I Believe In Me, Monaye adapted the story into the stage play Why Can’t We Be Friends, starring actress D’Atra Hicks and featured at the DC Theatre Festival. She later developed the project into the short film A Childhood Lost, marking her evolution from author to multifaceted storyteller. Her bestselling works, including Love the Real You and Imagine Life Without African American Inventors, have resonated with readers across the United States, United Kingdom, India, Australia, France, Denmark, Brazil, and several countries in Africa. Just recently, Charron collaborated with acclaimed writers, lending her production expertise to film projects such as Red Light (2023, associate producer), The Wake-Up Call (2024, TMT Digital Network, executive producer), and Urban Flesh Eaters (2025, Apple TV & Tubi, production assistant).

When she is not authoring books, penning scripts, ghostwriting, working on film sets or mentoring aspiring writers in the publishing industry, Charron Monaye serves as a voting member on the nominating committees for several major American award shows. She has also lent her voice and legal insights to media outlets such as CNN iReport and the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals Magazine. Today, she is a contributing writer for Hype Hair Magazine and an executive contributor for Brainz Magazine, where her work informs and inspires readers worldwide.

She is the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy from CICA International University & Seminary and the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, presented during the administration of President Barack Obama. Charron Monaye earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from West Chester University, a Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Washington Online Learning Institute, and a Master of Public Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management. She is also a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., and Deborah Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Inc., Ruth Chapter #66, Prince Hall Adopted.
