About Charron Monaye

Charron Monaye is an American writer, playwright, publisher, and theater/film producer whose career has spanned more than two decades. She has authored 28 books, co-authored over 100 titles, written and produced 10 theatrical productions, and published more than 175 authors across 15+ genres, generating over $1 million in global sales. Her acclaimed book series, Get Out of Your Own Way and The Adventures of Michelle and have empowered readers of all ages and inspired stage adaptations in both Hollywood and Off-Broadway theaters. Charron Monaye is, also, the founder of Pen Legacy, a multimedia enterprise encompassing publishing, songwriting, theater, and film.

Honing her craft by studying under New Times Bestselling Authors Shonda Rhimes and Victoria Christopher Murray. Charron’s literary and theatrical works have reached audiences in more than eight countries, earning international recognition for their cultural and artistic impact. Her debut book, My Side of the Story, was adapted into the stage play Living Your Life, which premiered in Philadelphia and was featured at the DC Theatre Festival. However, it wasn’t until her son authored the anti-bullying book I Believe In Me that Monaye adapted it into the stage play Why Can’t We Be Friends, which was featured at the DC Theatre Festival and starred actress D’Atra Hicks. She later developed it into the short film A Childhood Lost, marking her evolution from author to multifaceted storyteller. Her bestselling works including Love the Real You and Imagine Life Without African American Inventors, have resonated across the U.S., U.K., India, Australia, France, Denmark, Brazil, and Africa.

Just recently, Charron has returned to film as the creator and co-writer of several projects in development with T.Y. Entertainment, including A Twisted Obsession and A Christmas Prayer. She has also collaborated with acclaimed writers, lending her production expertise to film projects such as Red Light (2023, associate producer), The Wake-Up Call (2024, TMT Digital Network, executive producer), and Urban Flesh Eaters (2025, Apple TV & Tubi, production assistant).

When Charron is not writing books or scripts, or mentoring aspiring authors in the publishing space, she serves as a voting member on the nominating committees of several major American award shows. She also lends her voice and insights to prominent media outlets such as CNN, the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals Magazine, and Hype Hair Magazine, where her writing informs, engages, and inspires readers nationwide. Over the years, Charron has had the privilege of interviewing an array of influential figures and creative visionaries, including Tami Roman, Lem Collins, Bernadette Cooper of Klymaxx, Former First Lady Michelle Obama, Treasure Thompson, Toni Moore, Esq., Dr. Evelyn Braxton, and Cas Sigers, among others.
